Hello everyone.
It’s great to have the children back in school after the Easter break. They have started the summer term positively and are already producing work of a very high standard.
Funky Friday Assembly
Thank you to the parents and grandparents who attended our Funky Friday Assembly.

Congratulations to Theo (Reception) on being presented with an Oscar. He has made so much progress this year and has shown such kindness to his peers. Theo is the youngest pupil in the school but is full of character. It was a double whammy for him, as he was also presented with a Golden Ticket. Well done Theo.

Year 4 Adur Activity Centre and Sleepover
Yesterday, Lighthouse Class spent the day at the Adur Activity Centre. They then spent the night in school! They all had a fabulous time and particularly enjoyed Mr Strugnell’s Macaroni Cheese. On being asked their favourite activity, Ollie replied “I just loved the whole place and everything we did there!” Thank you to the staff who helped out during the day and offered to be part of the sleepover.
Chicks
Thank you to Miss Mann for arranging the opportunity for children and their parents to come into school over the Easter break to see the chicks.
Mowing with Mick
We continue to ensure that the school is looking fabulous. Thank you to Mick for sorting out the school gardens and getting rid of the weeds.
Chill Out Corners
Staff are working hard on developing their wellbeing chill-out corners. Don’t they look amazing?!
Pond Donations – Can you help?
A huge thank you to Barry Croxon, Dom Dellow, James Gleeson and Betty who spent the last weekend of the Easter break developing a pond in our wildlife garden. This is something that has been planned for a while and will help the children learn about habitats and pond life.
Our three wonderful dads, not only dug out the concrete that remained from the amphitheatre, but they also built a fence and gate to ensure the pond remains enclosed.
If there are any parents willing to donate large smooth pond stones, pond plants, pond lilies, driftwood, marginal pond plants, wild flowers to attract insects and butterflies or even any tadpoles to start our pond ecosystem…………..please contact either Barry Croxon or the school office.
Harley’s Corner
“Hello everyone. It was great to come back to school. I’ve had a few walks down to the beach and yesterday I had a close look at some paper weaving produced by Bow, Somma-Fei and Bonnie. It was lovely seeing you over the Easter break Grandma. Lovely garden!”
Let’s Dance
Alicija in Minnows took part in a dance competition at Istars Dance Acvademy last week. She did very well and won a trophy for her routine! She was also the youngest dancer to take part. Well done Alicija.
Staffing Update
Sadly, Terri will be leaving us next week to take up her dream job at Heronsdale. Her last day will be Friday 26th April. I’m sure you will join me in wishing her the very best. She will be greatly missed.
We do however welcome Lawrence Smith. Mr Smith will be job-sharing with Mrs Barnes and teaching Dolphins class on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
We Have Spaces
Didn’t get your first choice of school? We might be just what you’re looking for.
Have a lovely weekend everyone, and remember, in a world where you can be anything…….be kind.
Mr Vallier
