Weekend Blog 27.04.24 – Roll Up, Roll Up

Hello everyone.

What a busy week! We had so many visitors this week. All of them teachers and all of them very impressed by our school and our pupils. Well done everyone.

FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended our Funky Friday Assembly. There was so much to celebrate.

OSCARS

Congratulations to Ella–May (Year 2) on being presented with an Oscar. Ella’s cousin Emily lives with Dravet Syndrome. Ella raised £100 for the Dravet Charity by completing a 1 mile race.

Ella also stayed calm and helped her dad when the family puppy Clash broke his leg. She phoned her mum, got a blanket out of the cupboard and did so well looking after Clash so he could get to the vet hospital quickly. You’ll be pleased to know that Clash is doing well. Well done Ella.

GOLD AWARDS

There were three Gold Awards this week. Congratulations to Orla, Hannah and Ella.

GOLDEN TICKETERS

Golden Ticketers this week are: Aurelia and Otto (Minnows), Raphael and Ella (Seashells), Ivy and Effie (Starfish), Frances and Daniel (Dolphins), Faith and Rowan (Lighthouse)  Cassius and Ronnie (Coral) Alba (Ocean). Well done all of you.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Coral Class achieved the best attendance this week with 97.9%.

QUAD KIDS

Well done to those Year 5 and 6 pupils who participated in the Quad Kids Competition at Shoreham Academy. A special mention to Archie. His vortex javelin throw was ‘out of the park’ and the Shoreham Academy leaders were very impressed. He threw it 29 metres. Well done to you all and thank you to Mrs Shukla and Dixie for encouraging the children and ensuring they represented the school well.

ROLL UP, ROLL UP

This week saw the children enjoying their whole school treat. Thank you to Nick (NCCircus) for leading the circus skills workshops and thank you to the PTFA for organising it.

POND LIFE

Thank you to those parents, grandparents and friends of the school who have donated pond plants, weed and tadpoles. Thank you to Chris and Kate McLelland who have offered to purchase the bamboo screening to go around the fence. Barry Croxon is working so hard to get the pond ready. Thank you Barry.

We are still in need of large smooth pond stones, pond plants, pond lilies, driftwood, marginal pond plants, wild flowers to attract insects and butterflies or even more tadpoles to start our pond ecosystem…………..please can you get in contact with either Barry Croxon or the school office.

HARLEY’S CORNER

“Hello everyone. I met so many people this week. They were all visiting the school in the hope of getting a teaching job and spending time with me. Lucky people! I also enjoyed giving Millie a kiss as she showed me her lovely writing. See you online tomorrow Grandma.”

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
