Welcome to your weekly newsletter. There were many new learning experiences for the children this week and plenty of awe and wonder.
CAPTURED
Mrs Noble has once again been out and about capturing learning. She caught some lovely conversations and moments of reflection. Thank you, Mrs Noble.
FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY
Thank you to the parents and grandparents who joined us in our Funky Friday Assembly yesterday. A special mention to Vesper and her nan who donated an Orangutan to our monkey family…..called Vesper!
OSCAR
Congratulations to Jesse (Year 6) on being presented with an Oscar this week! He has Vlad as his buddy and after meeting him, went home and downloaded Duolingo. Jesse has started to learn some basic Ukrainian so that he could go and say good morning to Vlad every day. What a superstar! Knowing Jesse, he’ll keep learning and helping Vlad. What a wonderful thing to do. Such a kind, thoughtful and helpful act.
In addition, last weekend Jesse took part in the West Sussex Schools & Youth Sailing Association (WSSYSA) regatta that took place at Shoreham Sailing Club. Jesse has only been sailing since March and this was his first-time taking part in a race and first time sailing out at sea! Out of 32 boats in the class, he and his helm, Oscar, came 5th! They also came 2nd in the class of boat that they were racing. Well done Jesse.
GOLDEN TICKETERS

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
The class with the best attendance this week is Minnows with 98.3%. They have chosen to have Jasmine for the week.
YEAR 1 DINOSAUR WORKSHOP
Seashells had a visit from Daniel and Harold the hungry hatchling from the Novium Museum in Chichester this week. They learnt about the life cycle of a dinosaur, matched x rays to specific dinosaurs, played ‘Harold Says’ and got to handle some amazing fossils (including a replica of a T-Rex skull). They amazed Daniel with their dinosaur vocabulary and dinosaur knowledge.
HARLEY’S CORNER
“Hello everyone. I had the pleasure of meeting the Minnows this week. They were lovely! They came and gave me strokes. I also spent some time with the librarians Danny, Lily and Hannah. We have some great books by the way. I’ll tell you all about it on Sunday Grandma.”
SOO BACH DO
Last Saturday Maxine and Iris passed their Soo Bach Do (Korean Karate) grading at the Scriven Dojo in Seaford. They both achieved their red belts — the last belt before black belt! They’re both quite young to have hit this level, and have been working consistently for well over five years to achieve this.
WORTHING SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The musicians of Coral Class had a fantastic outing to Worthing yesterday to enjoy a performance by the Worthing Symphony Orchestra (not a bad way to spend the afternoon!). They experienced a diverse selection of scores, including works by Edvard Grieg, Franz Haydn and Tchaikovsky, as well as modern favourites like Pirates of the Caribbean and Wallace and Gromit. The performance was interactive, encouraging the children to think about the colours that inspired one piece and to anticipate a surprise—a sudden burst of volume—in another. They had the opportunity to experience first-hand what all the instruments in the orchestra looked and sounded like. The children described the trip as ‘fantastic,’ ‘amazing,’ ‘outstanding,’ and ‘bananas!’ A huge thank you to Mr Joseph, Mrs Hampton and Craig (our guitar teacher) for ensuring the children enjoyed the experience.
YEAR 3 RECORDERS
Year 3 are currently enjoying their whole class recorder sessions with Mr Joseph.
