Hello everyone.
As we head into the festive season, I thought I would share a cheeky video of our newer staff members:

And also, a couple of pieces of music performed by Year 4 on bells. They were very keen for me to share them with you.

FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who joined us for our Funky Friday Assembly yesterday. I can only apologise for Mr Strudwick’s antics!
OSCAR
Congratulations to Millie on receiving an Oscar this week.
She has been a PTA unofficial helper for years – helping the committee out with various tasks. However, this year off her own back, she decided she wanted to create her own stall for the winter fair to raise funds for the school haven and chill out areas.
Not only did she come up with the idea to create and actually make the bracelets. Off her own back, Millie recruited a team of helpers has also created a guess the name of the elf game, decorating a recycled board and finding a suitable elf as a prize!
No-one has asked Millie to do any of this, she took it upon herself to plan her “business” and raise money for the school she absolutely loves! Well done Millie.

Golden Ticketers this week are:
Zachary and Ayanna (Minnows), Sedra and Sully (Seashells), Tasha and Hubert (Starfish), Alfie and Evie (Dolphins), Juliette and Flynn (Lighthouse), Rowan and Nala (Coral), Hetty and Jesse (Ocean).
Well done to you all.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Axel (Year 2) had his first South East Regional gymnastics competition last Sunday in Guildford. He was competing against boys up to two years older than him and from all across the region from Dover to Walton!
He came 7th out of 12 and though he was disappointed he didn’t place, he is determined to turn it into a positive by training harder to do better in the county championships in March.
You are a star Axel.
HARLEY’S CORNER
“Hello everyone. I have to say that I was a little disappointed that Princess Anne didn’t pop in to see me when she visited the Beach on Thursday. However, it was pleasing to hear that she visited the National Coastguard Station and met some of the volunteer watchkeepers who help keep people safe. I had my photograph taken with Lily and Felix instead. Have you ever met someone from the Royal Family Grandma?”
PHONICS WORKSHOP
Thank you to the parents who attended the Phonics Workshop in Minnows. Do speak with Mrs Thomas if you missed it.

With Georgie D’Ademo leaving us at the end of the term, I am pleased to welcome Natasha Simpson who will be teaching Starfish Class for the remainder of the year. Natasha is a very experienced West Sussex teacher. I am sure you will join me in welcoming her to Shoreham Beach Primary.
