Hello everyone.
What a week! Two KS1 Christmas performances, three sports events, a Christmas Breakout Afternoon and an Ofsted Inspection.
I am not able to share the details of the inspection until the report is published after Christmas. However, the inspector was very positive about our school and recognised the improvements and impact that has been made over the last four years. Thank you to all those parents who completed the survey and spoke with the inspector over the two days. Thank you to the staff who worked so hard and were incredibly supportive of each other. Thank you to the children who were just fabulous and clearly love their learning and are very proud of our school!
EARLY YEARS AND KEY STAGE ONE CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE
CAPTURED
More learning moments captured by Mrs Noble:
FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who joined us for our Funky Friday Assembly yesterday. I hope you enjoyed it. A special mention to Mrs Hampton and the Knitting Club who produced some lovely decorations for the tree and also to Jesse (Year 6)……what a star!
OSCAR
No one received an Oscar this week but I thought I would share where Millie’s Oscar ended up last week…….amongst the Three Wise Men!
GOLDEN TICKETERS
Golden Ticketers this week are:
Taha and Otis (Minnows), River and Raphael (Seashells), Joshy and Miles (Starfish), Didi and Jago (Dolphins), Oakley (Lighthouse), Maggie and Alex (Coral), Quinn and Aria (Ocean).
Well done to you all.
GOLD AWARD
Congratulations to Joseph who received a Gold Award for having five mentions in the Log Book.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
The class with the best attendance this week is ….every class. A little well done on gaining a national attendance award last week and remaining above the national average. Every class chose a monkey to have for the week.
MINNOWS MAGIC
Minnows have been writing letters in the ‘snow’, repeating patterns, building sandcastles and creating their own sleigh
BREAKOUT
Our Christmas Breakout Afternoon took place yesterday with every child involved in an activity with children from other year groups. Here are a few photographs:
KIEGAN’S CHARITY WALK
I just wanted to give a little mention to Kiegan for last weekend. Kiegan and his parents took part in a charity walk for SANDS (Stillbirth And Neonatal Death Society) with some friends in Hailsham. It’s a subject that unfortunately is very close to home for the family
It was a 5K walk (in the howling wind and rain!), and Kiegan completed the whole course and managed to raise £720 for the charity (helped with several donations from the other very generous seashells parents), so a big thank you to them 😊. Well done all.
SPORTS
This week saw us play football and netball against St. Nicolas Primary and football against Glebe Primary. They had a great time and played very well indeed. Thank you to Mr Strudwick for finding the time to arrange three games during a very busy week.
HARLEY’S CORNER
“Hello everyone. It felt a bit strange this week. Two weeks before the Christmas break and the school had an ungraded Ofsted inspection. I could feel the energy and focus throughout the school. Thankfully Jeta kept be calm by treating me to a new dog toy. Thank you Jeta – that was really kind of you. I’ll tell you about the inspection and my new toy tomorrow Grandma.”
YEAR 1 LIBRARY VISIT
Seashells visited Shoreham library today. They were greeted by Frances the librarian, who talked about the books available in the library, then they had a good peruse around the shelves. Some of the children were able to borrow a book and take it home! Everyone was so well behaved and walked beautifully there and back. We’re very proud of you Seashells.
