Hello everyone.
May I start by saying a huge thank you to Mr Collinson for his maths workshops this week. Both sessions were well attended and the comments from parents (and staff from other schools) have been very positive. There’s a crazy little thing called love and Mr Collinson certainly loves his maths.
CAPTURED
More learning moments captured with love by Mrs Noble:
FRIDAY I’M IN LOVE
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended this week’s Funky Friday Assembly. I hope you enjoyed your Love Hearts. It was a Valentines Special and there was certainly a lot of love in the room.
OSCAR
Congratulations to Taha (Minnows) on being presented with an Oscar. According to Mrs Thomas, Taha is one of the most delightful children she has ever taught (and she’s taught A LOT of children!). Taha arrives at school every morning with the biggest of smiles and can’t wait to start the day. He is a passionate learner and even at home he practises his reading every single day. This hard-working attitude is really paying off as he can now read and write independently! Taha has the most wonderful imagination and even made a camera once!! He is the most polite, well-mannered and caring Minnow. He is such a popular member of the class. Everyone thinks he is amazing! It is a double whammy for Taha this week as he also received a Golden Ticket.
GOLDEN TICKETERS
Golden Ticketers this week are Bluebell and Taha (Minnows), Eliza and Sienna (Seashells), Joshy and Winnie (Starfish), Reuben and Effie (Dolphins), Stanley and Elsa (Lighthouse), Jenny and Lilah-Belle (Coral), Dennis and Tala (Ocean). Well done to you all.
GOLD AWARDS
Congratulations to Ella, Delilah and Molly on receiving Gold Awards this week for gaining five mentions in the Log Book.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Congratulations to Minnows Class with 97.1% attendance. The Monkey Randomiser chose Siam for them – although we did notice that Crow had included himself in the Randomiser and amongst the monkeys in the assembly. You can’t help falling in love with him!
WORK PLACEMENT
Thank you to Sandali and Tommy who have both completed a work placement with us. It was a pleasure having you in the school and hope you enjoyed the experience.
SULLY AT THE SCIENCE MUSEUM
I wanted to share a photo of Sully at the Science Museum. He was determined to wear school uniform despite it being a Saturday. He had a brilliant time and stayed until closing. He is absolutely obsessed with science at the moment (it must be love) and makes his family members read a page of his science book to him every night. Well done Sully.
SWIMMING LIKE A FISH
On Wednesday, eight children from our year 5 and 6 classes represented Shoreham Beach in the locality Swimming Gala. This is the first Swimming Galas that Shoreham Beach have entered for many years. And what a success it was…
All of the children involved had an amazing experience and gave 100%. They took part in 20 different races and were crowned winners for 9 of those races! Seriously, impressive swimmers! Unfortunately, other results didn’t fall in our favour and we finished 3rd overall. However, we are incredibly proud of what these children have achieved and can’t wait to see where their journeys may take them!
MINNOWS ART
Minnows have been creating sunset and sunrise backgrounds in art this week. A tainted love of colour.
GUINEA PIGS
Year 1 have been looking at guinea pigs and discussing the characteristics that show they are mammals.
RUN REUBEN RUN
Last Monday, Reuben represented Shoreham Beach Primary in the Southern Area Cross Country Finals, after his previous success in our locality cross country. He had to travel to Windlesham House School which is between Worthing and Horsham to take on the best runners from the Shoreham and Littlehampton localities.
During the race, Reuben showed amazing skill, determination and grit to be one of the top 50 runners in the whole of the southern area for his age group. Everyone here is immensely proud of your achievement Reuben! Well done! and remember….you can run fast but you can’t hurry love!
HARLEY’S CORNER
“Hello everyone. I had a fabulous time at the beach this week. I love the sound of the sea and I love the view around the coast. All you need is love. Speak to you tomorrow Grandma.”
ON THE BEACH
Harley Bear loves the beach and so did Minnows class this week. They had a lovely time producing pieces of art.
CRAFT CLUB
