Weekend Blog 01.03.25 – Soup, Fruit Salad and Nik Kershaw

Hello everyone.

Welcome back! I hope you had a good half term break.

Spring 2 has started with the feeling of excitement as new Learning Journeys begin and children engage in a range of different opportunities.

It has been particularly lovely seeing all of the children engaged in different DT activities as part of our DT Week. Each class had a problem to solve and each pupil had a chance to design and make something to solve the problem. These were the themes: Making Soup, Fruit Salads, Buzzer Activities, Puppets, Bridges, Flavoured Tea, Homes for Eggs.

CAPTURED

More learning moments captured by Mrs Noble (including DT Week):

FUNKY FRIDAY

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended this week’s Funky Friday Assembly. It is always lovely to share the achievements of the children. What a way to end the week and start the weekend!

OSCAR

Congratulations to Alana-Mai (Year 4) on being presented with an Oscar. She is simply full of kindness. This is the description given by Mrs Barnes and it fits perfectly. Alana is always polite and cheerful. She tries so hard with her learning and really is a lovely Shoreham Beach pupil. Well done Alana-Mai.

GOAL!!

Our Year 3 & 4 girls football team played well in the locality tournament this week. They played seven matches, won three, drew one and lost three. Well done girls and thank you to the parents who came and supported and to Mr Strudwick and Mrs Noble for ensuring the girls enjoyed themselves representing the school.

HARLEY’S CORNER

“Hello everyone. Smells like swimming success to me! Here I am sniffing Lily and Theo’s medals and rosettes.

Grandma….here’s a swimming joke for you: What do elephants wear to go swimming? Trunks.”

REVEREND JANE’S VISIT

Reverend Jane Bartlett from Church of the Good Shepherd came to visit Year 2 this week to tell the children the Creation story. The children were very interested and asked her lots of questions. This follows her visit to Year 4 a few weeks ago.
