Hello everyone.
The sun makes you feel so much better doesn’t it?! It certainly shone on the children during another busy week at Shoreham Beach Primary! World Book Day, a Netball tournament, a trip to the Fort and Shrove Tuesday. Here’s Felicity (Year 2) enjoying her pancake.
WORLD BOOK DAY
The school was jam-packed with book characters on Thursday. We even had our very own authors – Axel (Year 2) and Howl (Year 4) sharing their latest book with us. Check out the photograph of them with their book below. The story really is quite fabulous.

FUNKY FRIDAY
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended this week’s Funky Friday Assembly. You will be pleased to know that Geri wasn’t eaten by a wolf and has been found, and Mr Strudwick will be back on the triangle again next week.
OSCARS
Congratulations to Effie and Nala. The girls recently raced as part of the Brighton Half Marathon and raised £400 for MacMillan Cancer Support Charity.
Effie was described by her class teacher as “someone who is always committed to doing her best and never gives up even when faced with challenges. When something feels tricky, she will find a way to push through”.
Nala was described by her teacher as “being completely selfless and always puts others before herself. She is already planning how to raise more money for her chosen charity. It is an absolute honour to have such a kind, loving individual in my class and you totally deserve recognition for your kindness”.
Well done girls.

Golden Ticketers this week are Otis and Ayanna (Minnows), Felix and Sidney (Seashells), Vesper and Ava (Starfish), Alice and Lua (Dolphins), Elara and Amelie (Lighthouse), Felix and Rowan (Coral), Yvie and Danny (Ocean). Well done to you all.

YEAR 5 TRIP TO THE FORT
HARLEY’S CORNER
“Hello everyone. I’ve been out and about this week. Look at me roaming around on the artificial grass in the sunshine. I actually went out to see the children in the afternoon bus club, but got distracted by some lovely smells. Hey Grandma – I hope you are getting some sunshine.”
YEAR 5 & 6 NETBALL
Well done to the Year 5 & 6 Netball Team. They played incredibly well in the recent Netball tournament at Shoreham Academy. They played 5 games, won 3, lost 2 and finished 3rd overall. Check out the sun in the corner of the photographs. Beautiful.
ART & CRAFT CLUB
The children were making collage eggs this week.
COMING UP
Tuesday 18th March and Tuesday 25th March – Parent Consultation Evenings. A letter was sent out yesterday. You will receive a PING on Monday inviting you to sign up to a time slot.
In singing assembly this week, we started learning ‘Here Comes The Sun’ by The Beatles. It’s the perfect song for the weekend.
