Hello everyone.
This week saw Duck Eggs arrive in Minnows. It didn’t take long for them to start hatching and become fluffy. Every child in the school has spent some time with them.
Although the children in Minnows have named the Ducklings, Mr Strugnell in the office came up with his own names for them: Egg Sheeran, Eggie the Eagle, Eggward Scissorhands and Eggie Van Halen. Can you think of any more fun names?
FUNKY FRIDAY
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended this week’s Funky Friday Assembly. Mrs Paterson with her squeeze box and the return of Mr Strudwick on the triangle were definite highlights. I apologise for the picture of me as a young boy appearing on the screen (thank you staff!). This comes from a Funky Friday Assembly video from a few years ago: Videos | Shoreham Beach Primary School
OSCARS
Congratulations to Leandro on receiving an Oscar. According to his class teacher, Leandro excels in all areas of his learning. Leandro is curious and resilient. He always completes his home learning to a high standard – often expressing his learning through making Lego models or writing brochures or making pictures. He is responsible and reliable, always ensuring the class computers are shut down at the end of the school day. His problem-solving skills are exceptional and he is incredibly kind to his brother and cousins. He is a star pupil. Well done Leandro.

HARLEY’S CORNER
“Hello everyone. It’s been an Egg-cellent week. I said hello to the ducklings in Minnows.- they were very cute. I also hung out with Bear by the pond. I wasn’t quite sure what we were looking at Grandma, but it was good fun.”
SWIMMING SUCCESS
Congratulations to the four pupils (and Ducky the lucky mascot) who represented the school in the area swimming competition. They came 2nd overall and will now compete against the two best schools from Surrey, Hampshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. This will take place on Saturday 10th May at Spectrum Centre, Guildford.
NETBALL
It was a fantastic effort by our Year 5 & 6 Netballers. The result didn’t go our way, losing 9-7 to Glebe. But we are very proud of their attitude and support for each other.
POND LIFE
Egg-citing news! There are little clumps of Frogspawn in the pond.
