Weekend Blog 22.03.2025 – A Mad Week!

Hello everyone.

FUNKY FRIDAY

There was a sea of red in Funky Friday Assembly this week and plenty of madness and laughs. Quite fitting for Comic Relief Red Nose Day. A phone call to Mr Strudwick, Randomiser madness and even a Hey Jude singalong. Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who joined us. I hope you enjoyed the occasion.

OSCARS

Congratulations to Jude (Minnows) and Hugo (Lighthouse) on being presented with Oscars.

Jude approaches everything with such enthusiasm, always asking for extra challenges. We love how he asks questions and shares his knowledge with his class. He knows so much about so many things – especially animals and the world (he’s a miniature David Attenborough!)  Jude is one of the kindest, friendliest and caring children. Everyone who knows him adores him, from the adults on the bus and teachers in school to our little ducklings! He was the best Daddy Duckling. He even named one after his cat Tish! We love having him in our class and we are so proud of him. Well done Jude.

Hugo received an Oscar for his continued kindness, supporting other pupils to log into their computer accounts or sort out their computer problems. He never makes a fuss and is very patient when he models to others what to do. He is a whizz at using Canva and Adobe to make posters or videos. He always listens attentively in class and asks, and answers, lots of questions. He loves learning! We think he is star pupil. Well done Hugo.

GOLDEN TICKETERS

Golden Ticketers this week are Etta and Jude (Minnows), Ollie and Raphael (Seashells), Harry and Benji (Starfish), Millie and Lawrie (Dolphins), Ella and Hugo (Lighthouse), Millie and Lyla (Coral), Mayowa and Cleo (Ocean). Well done to you all.

GOLD AWARDS

Congratulations to Herbie, Kayla and Alana-Mai on receiving a Gold Award each this week.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Congratulations to Minnows Class with 100% attendance. The Randomiser initially selected Mr Strudwick for Minnows to have in their class for a week. The Randomiser then chose Siam. Phew!

CAPTURED

More learning moments captured by Mrs Noble and Miss Mann:

HARLEY’S CORNER

“Hello everyone. This is me with Alana-Mai. She was showing me her Gold Award certificate. I was very proud of her. It’s been a mad week Grandma – I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.”

MATCH OF THE DAY

Our Year 3 & 4 girls football team had a fabulous time on Thursday playing against Swiss Gardens. The girls played brilliantly – considering that most of them had never played football before. Daisy was amazing in goal and although we lost both games, the girls had a great time representing the school.

EXPLORERS

Miss Mann started her Explorers Group this week. They had a thoroughly good time in our wildlife garden.

A QUACK UPDATE!

Children from Sunshine Nursery and Pebbles Nursery visited the ducklings this week and thoroughly enjoyed stroking them and watching them play in the water.

The ducklings have given the children and staff so much pleasure. Yesterday however, was their last day with us. A friend of Mr Collinson’s will be looking after them and will keep the children updated on their adventures.

RED NOSE DAY

The finalists for the joke contest were Emilija and Lily from Minnows, Maeva and Thea from Year 1, Rufus and Wilf from Year 2, Reuben and Evie from Year 3, Oakley and Mira from Year 4, Tom and Etienne from Year 5 and Grace and Hugo from Year 6. They were all great and Miss Mann and Mrs Bennett laughed a lot.

The overall winners were Rufus (Year 2) and Reuben (Year 3), who get to be Head Teacher  and Deputy for a morning. Well done to everyone who took part.
Reuben’s joke: The other day some books fell down on Mrs Bennett’s head, she’s only got her shelf to blame!
Rufus’ joke: What do you call a hen who can count her own eggs? A mathmachicken! 🤣🤣
