Weekend Blog 03.05.25 – Here Comes The Sun

Hello everyone.

It was a warm one this week. Thank you for remembering the sun hats, water and application of sunscreen.

FACTOID OF THE WEEK

Lemons float in water, but limes sink.

Why don’t you give it a go over the Bank Holiday weekend.

CAPTURED

Here are some learning moments in and around school captured by Mrs Noble and Mrs Paterson:

FUNKY FRIDAY

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended our Funky Friday assembly yesterday. It was a warm one, but full of fun. Thank you to Mr Strudwick for being a good sport.

OSCAR

Congratulations to Tash (Year 2) on being presented with an Oscar.

Tash is a joy to teach. She loves a challenge and has an innate enthusiasm for learning. All of the teachers agree that she is consistently self-motivated and hard working. She may not always get everything right first time but she tries again demonstrating resilience and perseverance. Tash has so many interests. She belongs to lots of clubs both in and out of school. Swimming, Brownies, gymnastics and tennis to name a few. Her gymnastics coach says that she is a pleasure to coach. Her teacher said: “You are a lovely friend and a superstar Tash. Well done you really deserve this.”

GOLD AWARDS

Congratulations to the following children on being presented with Gold Awards: Archie, Macey, Parker, Lauren, Daisy, George and Jenny.

Jude and Grace received their second Gold Award. Well done you two.

LEARNING JOURNEYS

You should have now been sent a Learning Journey Overview outlining what your child will be learning this half term. All of our learning journeys can be found on our website:

EXPLORERS

The children enjoyed using tools to make wooden disk necklaces and exploring the garden this week. Check out the Explorers Shed below. Well done to Miss Mann for making it look welcoming.

POND LIFE

Our pond is more established this year in terms of plants, snails and other pond life, but unfortunately, no Tadpoles. If any children are willing to donate some pond life – it would be greatly appreciated.

MINNOWS MAGIC

The children in Minnows loved the mud kitchen and water this week – learning about capacity and minibeasts. They were particularly interested in watching the lizard!

DISCUS DELIGHT FOR ARCHIE

Congratulations to Archie (Year 6) who recently represented Worthing Harriers in a West Sussex U13 Athletics League Match. He threw the discus 18.52 metres to win the Boys’ A Group. The person who came second threw 13.44. Wow! What an achievement.

HARLEY TALK

The message from Harley Bear has been a bit temperamental this morning. I’m hoping it will load okay. If not, please try again later:

Have a lovely long weekend. See you all on Tuesday.
