Weekend Blog 27.09.25 – Abbey Road at 56

Hello everyone.

On 26th September 1969, The Beatles released arguably their best album ‘Abbey Road’. 56 years later and it still sounds brilliant. As a school, we’ve been singing ‘Here Comes The Sun’ this week. Why don’t you put on a pair of headphones and give ‘Abbey Road’ a listen this weekend. Such a great album.

FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended yesterday’s Funky Friday Assembly. Anything can happen in a Funky Friday assembly! A special mention to Jim (Year 6) who stepped in at the last minute to operate the Powerpoint and to Theo (Year 6) for being a good sport on his birthday. A big thank you to Dolphins class for holding up their smiley suns during our ‘Here Comes The Sun’ song.

Here are some learning moments in and around school, captured by Mrs Noble:

NURSERY NEWS

Our new nursery children have settled in so well. It has been lovely seeing them engaged in the different activities. I think every member of staff has spent time in Nursery with the children this week. Thank you for the many positive messages we have received from parents.

OSCAR

Delilah was presented with an Oscar this week for being an absolute star in class — kind, hard-working, and endlessly helpful. She goes above and beyond, always ready to drop whatever she is doing to support her classmates and staff. Whether it’s offering a comforting word, lending a hand, or solving a tech issue – she does it all with a smile. Mr Strudwick says “Delilah you are brilliant and truly deserve the Oscar.” Well done Delilah.
