Weekend Blog 25.10.25 – End of Term 1

Hello everyone.

Happy Saturday.

As I write this, I have no doubt that Ocean Class are still asleep after returning yesterday afternoon from their three-day adventure at Cobnor Activity Centre. I know they had a fantastic time. Thank you to Mr Strudwick, Mrs Noble and Mrs Bennett for ensuring they enjoyed themselves. I will add photographs to the next blog.

As we move into the half term break, it gives us a chance to reflect on the many learning activities that the children have been involved in. Every weekend blog is packed with photographs from the week. A big thank you to the staff for encouraging our children to ask questions, think deeply and experience memorable learning opportunities.

MINNOWS DROP-IN

Thank you to the Minnows parents who came in this week and spent some time with their child looking through their learning journals. Mrs Thomas is already planning for more drop-ins.

HALLOWEEN DISCO – WHAT A SCREAM!

The Halloween disco was a howling success. A special mention to Millie and Ella P who came in extra early to help decorate the hall and then help walk KS1 children through to the disco who were feeling a bit shy. They lined everyone up before entering the hall and also helped check off KS2 names to get everyone out of the rain and into the hall safely! Throughout the disco they encouraged KS1 to dance and helped with a few tears when we had balloons pop!

A huge thank you to Millie, Ella and the PTA team Louisa, Sophie and Charlotte

FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended yesterday’s Funky Friday Assembly. One parent shared the following kind words in an email:

It was wonderful to see you and all the staff interacting with the children – the whole assesmbly felt so fun, wholesome and full of that real family vibe that makes the school so special.”

CAPTURED

Here are some learning moments from in and around school this week, captured by Mrs Noble:

OSCAR

Congratulations to Lawrie on being presented with an Oscar. Mrs Barnes wrote this about him:

Lawrie is thoughtful, listens attentively and thinks deeply. He is able to use his extensive general knowledge to make links to new learning. It makes my day to see his face light up when he gets opportunities to finish writing his stories or to work with a buddy to compose a wolf poem. Lawrie is not only a delight to teach, but a helpful and kind member of the class with a lovely smile.”

GOLD AWARD

Congratulations to Rosa on receiving a Gold Award. Rosa has had five mentions in the Log Book.

GOLDEN TICKETS

Congratulations to our Golden Ticketers: Alf and Ellie (Reception), Etta and Joshua (Year 1), Kiegan and Aurelia (Year 2), Poppy and Arun (Year 3), Max and Lua (Year 4). There were no Year 5 or Year 6 golden tickets this week.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

The class with the best attendance this week is Lighthouse Class with 100%. The Attendance Randomiser selected Little Harley for them to have for a week.
