Hello everyone.
Thank you to all those prospective parents who joined us for tours of the school this week. Our Year 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed showing you around our school and we really appreciated your positive comments. We are very proud..
If you missed our open mornings – contact the school office and book in a visit.

FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended yesterday’s Funky Friday Assembly. Plenty of achievements were celebrated and plenty of smiles were on show.
CAPTURED
Here are some learning moments from in and around school this week, captured by Mrs Noble:
OSCARS
Congratulations to Lily and Enoch on receiving Oscars.
Lily works hard, contributes thoughtfully, is kind and conscientious and collaborates well with other children. Her ability to direct her own learning really stands out — she shows originality and excellent problem-solving skills, often finding ways to make her work her unique. Lily also won a poetry competition (see below). What a superstar!
Enoch only joined us last year, but he is just marvellous! He has a passion for learning, is conscientious, is a brilliant footballer, kind, caring, enthusiastic, works well with everybody in the class and was a fabulous tour guide this week when showing parents around the school. We are incredibly proud to have you as a pupil at our school Enoch. Well done.
GOLD AWARD
No Gold Awards this week, but lots of children on four mentions in the Log Book.
GOLDEN TICKETS
Congratulations to our Golden Ticketers: Anna and Pearl (Reception), Lily and Elyot (Year 1), Maeva (Year 2), Joshy and Emmy (Year 3), Ivy and Effie (Year 4), Florence and Hettie (Year 5), Felix and Maxine (Year 6)
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
The class with the best attendance this week is Ocean Class with 100%. The Randomiser chose Little Harley for them to have for a week.
GEORGE – GIVING HIS BEST
Below is a photograph of George (Year 4) with his player of the month trophy.
George plays for Shoreham Football Club and was chosen to receive the trophy by his coaches for “Always giving it his all in training, for asking questions on where he can improve, and for doing extra training with his dad.”
Well done George. Liverpool FC could do with you at the moment to steady the ship and get a run of results together.

LILY
Congratulations to Lily (Year 3) who won a special award in a local poetry competition. As part of the Adur Arts Festival. They invited people to write a poem about a piece of art they saw during the open house festival. At the time, Lily was doing poetry with Ms Simpson and was inspired to write many poems including this one which is currently displayed at The Shoreham Centre about a piece of art named ‘Shoreham’ by local artist Terry Griffin. Well done Lily.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD – SHOEBOX APPEAL 2025
Emily (Nursery Manager) is collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, and I would love for our school families to join in and make a difference.
Operation Christmas Child sends gift-filled shoeboxes to children around the world who might not receive anything for Christmas. These simple gifts can bring so much joy and hope to kids who really need it.
Here’s how the children can help:
– Find a shoebox (or use one of the ready made ones)
– Fill it with small toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and don’t forget to add a personal message from the children! A kind note or drawing can really make a child feel special. Please make sure items are new/unused.
(Please no food, liquids, or anything war-related)
– Label the box for a boy or girl, and choose an age group (2-4, 5-9, 10-14)
What’s really exciting is that the children can track their box and see where it goes—imagine how amazing it will be for them to see the impact they’ve made!
If you would like a pre-made shoebox, please email [email protected]
Once the shoeboxes are ready, please bring them to Emily in the Nursery or drop them off at the school office by November 17th.
Thank you for helping make this a magical Christmas for children around the world!
