Happy Saturday everyone….and what a scorcher it is too!
END OF SUMMER TERM 1
It’s been a short, but incredibly busy half term. Just take a peek at the previous blogs and see the many learning activities, trips and visitors that the children have experienced over the last six weeks.
THRILLING THURSDAY ASSEMBLY
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who joined us for our Thrilling Thursday Assembly. The Kazoo has suddenly become THE most popular instrument on the South Coast thanks to our very own Kazoo Legend.
CAPTURED
Here are some learning moments from this week, captured by Miss Watson:
OSCAR
Congratulations to our Year 6 pupils and to Joshy (Year 3) on being presented with Oscars this week.
Our Year 6 were presented with an Oscar for the positive attitude they showed towards their SATs last week. They showed focus, determination and enthusiasm when faced with the Maths, Reading and SPAG tests. Well done Year 6 – your positive approach sums up the year you have had.
Joshy is one of the smiliest, most pleasant, engaged and positive children you could ever come across. He has come such a long way this year. Joshy is a very curious, talking enthusiastically about the world explorers he listens to on his Yoto at night and being inquisitive about the books he is reading. He loves to help his little sister Indi with her learning and has even designed some special books to help her with her maths and English. Outside of school he loves being outdoors with his beach crew learning to surf / sail his boat and ride his mountain bike. Josh was one of the bike bus pioneers alongside his buddy’s Charlie/Freya and Betty. He attends 1st Shoreham Sea Scouts and has just earned his bronze award – the highest honour a beaver scout can earn. We are all so proud of this little chap! Well done Joshy.
GOLD AWARDS
Congratulations to the following children on being presented with a Gold Award for five mentions in the Log Book: Lincoln, Gully, Ren, Sonni, Rufus and Ella.

Our Golden Ticketers this week are: Flossy and Felix (Minnows) Sklar and Elyot (Starfish), Arisa and Maeva (Seashells), Miles and Alice (Dolphins), Isabelle and Nimitan (Lighthouse), Flynn and Cara (Coral), Jim and Enoch (Ocean)
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
The class with the best attendance this week is Coral Class with 97.7%. The Attendance Randomiser selected Randall for them to have for the week. A special mention to Mrs Bennett who wore her special ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ t-shirt.
HARLEY SAYS….
A YEAR 5 AFTERNOON AT THE MUSEUM
The 5’s have been working incredibly hard this term and had the pleasure of showing their Mount Everest ‘Museums’ to Year 4 and Year 6. The children were so creative in their presentation of what they had learnt this term and it was fantastic to see how detailed and knowledgeable they were when presenting to the museum visitors. Well done Coral Class and thank you Mrs Chadborn.
NURSERY TIME
FUNKY FRIDAY BIKE BUS
A huge thank you to parents Luke, Mark, Chris and Darren who have played an integral part in ensuring the bike bus operates safely and is enjoyable for all those who take part. It is lovely to see how the children gather with their friends and cycle together under the careful watch of the parent helpers. It is also lovely to see parents getting involved in supporting the school. Thank you so much. Get onboard the Funky Friday Bike Bus everybody.
Have a good weekend and relaxing half term break.
We will see you on Monday 1st June.
