Weekend Blog 06.06.26 – Heading into Summer 2

Happy Saturday everyone,

Thank you to Starfish Class for the fabulous artwork that now sits proudly in the office.

FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who joined us for our Funky Friday Assembly yesterday. It’s rare for a primary school to sing ‘Mull of Kintyre’ accompanied by guitars, a piano, a box drum and a Kazoo Orchestra. Only at Shoreham Beach Primary!

CAPTURED

Here are some learning moments from this week, captured by Miss Watson:

OSCAR

Congratulations to Florence (Year 4). According to Mrs Barnes: Florence is a dream pupil! Every piece of learning is completed to a high standard with attention paid to detail. She is kind, considerate, helpful. Florence arrives at school smiling every day. She is inquisitive and is always confidently asking questions. She has a flair for art where she creates beautiful paintings, clay models and sketches with ease. Florence also excels in dance lessons. She is just lovely!

GOLD AWARDS

Congratulations to the following children on being presented with a Gold Award for five mentions in the Log Book: Flossy, Wilf, Ellis, Greta and Mira. It was a double whammy for Wilf – who also received a Golden Ticket this week.

A special mention to Max who missed out on getting his Gold Award a couple of weeks ago and Rabiya whose photograph was missing from last week’s blog.

GOLDEN TICKETS

Our Golden Ticketers this week are: Tommy and Roman (Minnows), Oakley and Lauren (Starfish), Thea (Seashells), Wilf and Ella (Dolphins), Didi and Mia (Lighthouse), Elara (Coral), Etienne and Maxine (Ocean)

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

LUA

Here is Lua (Year 4) practising her Kazoo whilst upside down. She and her brother Teddy even performed ‘Happy Birthday’ to their grandma….on the Kazoo.

THIN BOY SLIM
A couple of weekends ago, Howl (Year 5) performed his first professional DJ set at the Elderflower Fields Festival!
It was such an incredible experience, he made new friends and played to an amazing crowd – who loved his set. A fantastic accomplishment at just 10 years old! Check out the video link below:

MAISIE AND HER FOOTBALL

Shortly before the half term break, I received an email from football coach Fazer Evans, who said:

Maisie (Year 2) has been training with us every week since we started the Girls-Only Club in September, and I recently had the privilege of coaching her group on a Tuesday and seeing the incredible improvements to her ball control, dribbling skills and goal-scoring abilities. She was the top scorer in the match and really stood out for her confidence with the ball, which is paramount to everything that we do at We Make Footballers. I was so impressed that I have encouraged her mum to book her in for a free trial session at our Monday evening session at Shoreham Academy. Hopefully this will inspire other girls, and boys, to start playing football.

Well done Maisie.
