Hello everyone.
Happy New Year.
The children have settled well.
It’s been a bit of a chilly week. Some said they saw two feet of snow!
Anyway, in keeping with the cold weather – here is an ice cube experiment that you might like to try out at home to see whether ice cubes melt quicker on a black plate or a white plate. Don’t forget to use the same size and the same number of ice cubes. Try on black and white card if you don’t have black and white plates.

FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY
Our Ofsted inspection report is due to be published next week. It must be the only Ofsted report to mention Funky Friday in its opening paragraph! I hope you enjoy reading it when I PING it to you on Tuesday.
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who joined us for our Funky Friday Assembly. We have changed a couple of things. We hope you enjoyed the Monkey Randomiser and Happy Birthday Band. As always, a special mention to Mr Strudwick for sorting out the band and demonstrating his fantastic triangle skills.
OSCAR
Congratulations to Lydia (Year 3) who was presented with an Oscar this week.
She was nominated by a parent who described Lydia as kind, caring, inclusive, inquisitive, friendly and always polite. She is also a lovely big sister to Greta and thoroughly deserves to receive an Oscar. Well done Lydia. We think you are fantastic.

HARLEY’S CORNER
“Hello everyone. Naomi and Millie came to see me this week about raising money for the RSPCA. They are planning for the whole school to take part in a 2km run (when it’s a bit warmer) to raise as much money as possible. Mr Strudwick has agreed to organise it and I am going to join in as well. See you tomorrow Grandma. Let’s talk about the snow we had this week.”
WRAPAROUND CARE
VIM Clubs are up and running. Make sure you book your child into breakfast club or after school club on the bus. We are also already discussing the possibility of a holiday club at Easter.
