FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended this week’s Funky Friday Assembly. It was certainly full of fun.

OSCARS

Congratulations to Frankie (Reception) on being presented with an Oscar.

According to his class teacher, he is simply fabulous! And this is why……He arrives at school every day with the biggest smile and cannot wait to start the day. He loves to learn and has the most amazing attitude to learning. He has only been at school for 5 months but already he can read and write like a 6-year-old! Frankie approaches every lesson with such enthusiasm, asking questions and sharing his own brilliant ideas. Everyone who knows him, adores him, from lunchtime supervisors to the staff on the bus. He literally lights up every room he walks into and we are so proud of him. He is simply fantastic Frankie

It’s a double whammy for Frankie – who also received a Golden Ticket this week.

GOLDEN TICKETERS

Golden Ticketers this week are:

Kayla and Frankie(Minnows), Maeva and Otto (Seashells), Hubert and Felicity (Starfish), Arthur and Ellia (Dolphins), Mira and Delilah (Lighthouse), Tom and Etienne (Coral), Hettie and Rosie (Ocean). Well done to you all.

GOLD AWARDS

Congratulations to Juke on receiving a Gold Award for five mentions in the Log Book.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Congratulations to Minnows Class with 96.4% attendance. The Monkey Randomiser chose Jasmine for them.

Here is a photograph of Vesper in Dolphins Class last week. How much fun are they all having in their Djembe drum session.

YOUNG VOICES

Mr Joseph wrote the following:

Children from Year 4 had an unforgettable experience this week when they travelled to the O2 in London to take part in the Young Voices concert. After a day filled with waiting and rehearsing—during which the children were incredibly well-behaved and patient—the concert itself was a showcase of amazing singing and dancing. The children sang their hearts out to songs like Birdhouse in Your Soul, Try Everything, Hairspray, and a lively pop medley, which were among their favourites both during choir club and the concert itself. Their spontaneous arm-around-the-shoulder moment and gentle sway during Little Blue was absolutely heart-warming! Singing in a packed O2 arena, with the vibrant atmosphere and dazzling lights, is an experience we are sure they will remember for years to come. We are so proud of every child who took part, and a huge thank you to the parents who came along to support them.

A huge thank you to Mr Joseph, Mrs Clarke, Delilah’s mum and Orla’s mum for ensuring the children had a fabulous time.

CRAFT CLUB

Glitter and Glue……what more can you ask for when you attend Craft Club?! Thanks Miss Mann!

YEAR 3 & 4 FOOTBALL

Well done to those pupils who represented the school in the Year 3 & 4 football tournament at Shoreham academy this week. Mr Strudwick said you were brilliant!

YEAR 1 – BOATS AFLOAT

During exploring time this week, the children wanted to make boats. They used paper plates, tine foil and someone asked for wax crayons to waterproof the bottom of their boat. They then tried adding some weight to see how much their boats would carry. They also tried to make origami boats by following a video! Some of Seashells Class chose to research on iPads which plants grow in the ocean.

HARLEY’S CORNER

“Hello everyone. This week I had Juliette and Elsa sing a song they had written about the Berlin Wall. It was so good! I also had Felix share his amazing planet system that he had made at home. The planets rotated! It’s the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend Grandma. Let’s check out the garden tomorrow morning.”

FEED THE BIRDS

As Harley said in his blog – this weekend is the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch and in preparation, Year 1 made bird feeders. Thank you to Mrs Bennett and the parents for helping the children create some fabulous feeders for our wildlife garden. They didn’t last long. – the birds loved them!!
