Weekend Blog 19.07.25 – Time For A Summer Break

Hello everyone.

LEAVERS

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended our Leavers Assembly yesterday. The Year 6 pupils have been involved in Bowling and a Pizza leavers party this week. They were also presented with a superb year book depicting their time at Shoreham Beach Primary. May we take this opportunity to wish them all the best as they move to the next stage of their education.

WHOLE SCHOOL TREAT

The children thoroughly enjoyed the inflatable treat this week. Thank you to the PTA for arranging it and for providing the ice pops afterwards.

CAPTURED

Here are some learning moments in and around school, captured by Mrs Noble:

GOLD AWARDS

Congratulations to Izzy, Molly, Nimitan, Reuben, Sidney, Ivy, Jim and Ella. It is Ella’s 10th time in the Log Book.

HARLEY TALK

A message from Harley Bear:

AXEL

Axel competed in his gymnastics club competition recently. It was his first time competing at an intermediate level, with an advanced vault and against boys older than himself. He did amazingly well and came away with a silver medal to add to his collection. What was lovely to see was how he supported and congratulated the gold medal winner during and after the event. Axel is immensely proud of his achievements and loves to share them with his teachers and school friends. Well done Axel.

YEAR 5 RAMPION VISIT

Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their Rampion trip:

THE HAWTH

Congratulations to Felix, Reuben and Maxine for performing to hundreds of people at The Hawth Theatre. They sang, danced and acted in their Ariel Drama Academy showcase, which is a series of small performances, so they had lots to remember! The audience absolutely loved it.

YEAR 1 CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN PARTY

YEAR 4 FINAL RECORDER SESSION

STAFFING UPDATE

Sadly, we say goodbye to Natasha Simpson (Year 2 Teacher) and to Danaka Watson (Teaching Assistant). We wish them both all the best on their next adventures.

A big “welcome back” to Lisa Lamper and Terri Hall who are officially back with us in September. Terri re-joins the team as the Teaching Assistant in Minnows and Lisa joins the SEN Team for two mornings a week.

KNITTING CLUB

GEMMA STEPS DOWN

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Gemma Windham for her hard work and dedication to our school over many years. Gemma steps down as Chair of the PTA having contributed to many hours of fundraising for the school – raising thousands of pounds towards the school bus, refurbishment of classrooms and chillout rooms. Thank you Gemma.

Thankfully, Gemma continues as Vice Chair of Governors.

WHEN SATURDAY COMES

The songs are nearly ready to be uploaded to Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and YouTube. I will let you know when you can have a listen to our fabulous Year 6 pupils singing the songs from their end of year production  ‘When Saturday Comes’.

NURSERY UPDATE

After some very intense few months, everything is almost in place for the opening of our new Nursery. This is brilliant for the school and for the children and families in the community.

Thank you to those of you who have already registered an interest in your child joining us. The forms will be emailed out to you when we return in September when we know that the building works, furniture and staffing are ready. It’s going to be very exciting.

Don’t worry if your child can’t start straight away – you will be able to register at any time during the school year. Please contact Mike and Hayley in the school office.

The advert for the Nursery Manager and Nursery Practitioner positions have been uploaded to the West Sussex Job vacancy list:

FINALLY

Finally, may I take this opportunity of thanking the staff for their continued hard work in ensuring that our children get the best learning opportunities, and may I thank you for your continued support. The school continues to move forward with the introduction of new initiatives, building developments and a range of teaching and learning opportunities. For now, it’s time for a summer break.

Have a fantastic summer everyone and we will see you all on Thursday  4th September.

Best wishes,

Mr Vallier
