Happy Saturday everyone,
Yesterday was David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. We mentioned it in assembly and I know some children watched a short documentary on his life. He has achieved so much and has certainly raised the profile of environmental issues and how precious our planet is. What an amazing man!
FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY
Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended yesterday’s Funky Friday Assembly. It was great to see Mr Herriott (Kazoo Legend) and his Kazoo Orchestra in action.
CAPTURED
Here are some learning moments from in and around school this week, captured by Miss Watson:
OSCAR
Congratulations to Payton on being presented with an Oscar.
Payton helped a local resident who unfortunately took a tumble returning from local shops early last Sunday morning and was unable to get up. Payton, along with her mum, helped to pick me up and get her safely back to her house. Payton collected up the shopping and handbag and carried it back the house. Payton is one of our most caring pupils and continued to make sure the lady was okay. She then stayed her mum and the lady until she stabilised singing her songs and checking on her every few minutes.
The lady said the following in her email to Mr Vallier: “I was so impressed with Payton’s concerned manner, enthusiasm to help, chitchat and the fact she knew the words to Free Nelson Mandela. She is a credit to her mother but also the school”.

PTFA UPDATE
The PTFA are looking to put on a summer fair fundraiser again this year, with the aim to raise money towards a SEND pod for the school.
We are looking at a provisional date of Friday 10th July for the fair.
However this is only going to be possible with the help and support of others.
We will be looking for people to support in various ways/roles. We are looking for:
- 3/4 people to run a BBQ
- Several helpers to set up/clear up before and after the event
- 6 or so volunteers to oversee stalls (including sourcing volunteers to run the stalls on the day and sourcing materials required for the stall – all with support and guidance of PTFA)
If you are able to help volunteer with any of the above, please email [email protected] by Friday 22nd May, or feel free to find either Charlotte or Sophie to discuss.
We are also looking to expand the PTFA and take on new committee members. If you are interested in an informal chat, please get in touch, we would love to hear from you!
As always, thank you for your support!
