Weekend Blog 18.05.24 – Our Wonderful Year 6 Pupils

Hello everyone.

FUNKY FRIDAY ASSEMBLY

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended our Funky Friday Assembly. It was all about the cuddles!

OUR WONDERFUL YEAR 6 PUPILS

Congratulations to Ocean Class on being presented with the Oscar. You have been amazing this week. You approached the SATs with such a positive attitude. You remained focused throughout and ensured everyone was feeling okay after each test. It was lovely to see you enjoying Mr Strugnall’s scrambled egg and Mrs Paterson’s pancakes and the afternoon activities. We are incredibly proud of you. Thank you to those staff members who helped out and supported throughout the week. It was greatly appreciated. Thank you to Bronte for the amazing cake.

GOLD AWARDS

There were two Gold Awards presented this week. Congratulations to Hettie and Heidi.

GOLDEN TICKETERS

Golden Ticketers this week are: Raphael and Dominion (Minnows), Vesper and Wilf (Seashells), Ellia and Jago (Starfish), Rosa and Mira (Dolphins), Jim and Shay (Lighthouse), Demi and Cleo (Coral), Eadie and Lena (Ocean). Well done all of you.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Minnows Class achieved the best attendance this week with 98.1%. Dominion chose for the class to have Monkey for the week.

YEAR 3 & 4 ROUNDERS

Well done to those pupils who participated in the Year 3 and 4 Rounders Tournament this week at Shoreham Academy. Mrs Thomas and Miss D’Ademo said you were brilliant.

MID-MAY MADNESS

Our sports leaders organised some lunchtimes activities for children to participate in. They loved the madness!

RAINFOREST DIORAMAS

Year 1 made rainforest dioramas in Art this week, inspired by Henri Rousseau’s jungle scenes. Here are a few examples:

STANLEY

Congratulations to Stanley (Year 3) for competing in the South East Open Kickboxing Championship in Harlow, Essex. It was his first ever competition and he came first in his category. Well done Stanley.

SUCCESS IN THE BAHAMAS

Mia attended a cheerleading competition in Nassau, Bahamas with her cheerleading team from TopGun Allstars UK competing in the Spirit Royale competition. Mia’s team were crowned Division Champions and absolutely smashed their routine showing off the incredible hard work they’ve all put in over the last few months.

Mia-Rose also showed her kindness by supporting one of the older team members who really suffered with anxiety. Well done Mia-Rose.

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD

Children in Minnows enjoyed making and tasting food this week. They also enjoyed growing their own cress.

POND LIFE

Barry and James have added stones and a solar water pump. We just need some more pond snails. Is there anyone who would be able to donate some to the school? Children will be checking out the pond life after the half term break.

HARLEY’S CORNER

“Hello everyone. There was a mixture of weather this week and in my pen it rained carrots! I didn’t have that many at the beginning of the week! It was lovely to see Ella, Bella and Flossy’s printing. See you on Sunday Grandma – usual time?”

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
