Weekend Blog 30.03.24 – Happy Easter Everyone

Hello everyone.

Welcome to the weekend blog – your weekly news feed.

It’s been an Eggciting week with Minnows watching chick eggs, Year 1 producing some wonderful writing – sharing their thoughts on whether we are all equal, Year 2 enjoying their new chill-out corner, Year 3 making some creative Stone Age cave paintings using sponges, Year 4 finishing their Beowulf and Grendel legends, Year 5 making Dioramas and Year 6 producing some creative photographic images inspired by contemporary artist Ryan Gander. Wow!

Funky Friday Assembly

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents who attended our Funky Friday Assembly. It was certainly an eggstra mad one.

Whole School Treat

Congratulations on achieving 20,000 merits this term. Your whole school treat will be circus skills workshops after the Easter break.

Oscars

Congratulations to Isla (Year 6) on being presented with an Oscar. Isla is so kind and caring. She has such a good heart and is always looking out for others. She has a lovely nature and approaches everything with a smile. She even thought the Oscar was for her brother and not for her. Well done Isla – we think you are delightful.

Gold Awards

There were no Gold Awards this week.

Golden Ticketers

Golden Ticketers this week are: Sidney and Imogen (Minnows), Miles and Emmy (Seashells), Evie and Reuben (Starfish), Hugo and Ella (Dolphins), Lyla and Lily (Lighthouse), Mayowa and Katie (Coral) Bow and Ethan (Ocean). Well done all of you.

Attendance Matters

Minnows Class achieved the best attendance this week with 96.6%. They chose to have Bella Bunny for the week. Thank you Mrs Lamper!!! You are eggstremely naughty!

Lighthouse Class Mapping Trip

Lighthouse Class were involved in a mapping trip in Shoreham. Some of the maps they produced were stunning.

Gardening with Minnows

Minnows thoroughly enjoyed planting seeds with Miss Mann this week.

Dance with Connie

Year 5 wanted you to enjoy photographs of their ‘Revolting Children’ dance with Connie and Year 2 were very proud of their ‘Plague Dance’.

Harley’s Corner

“Hello everyone. I met Dixie’s daughter and cats this week. They were lovely. I also had Polly, Imogen and Alicija from Minnows show me their work followed by Jenny and Ella from Year 4.  Have an eggcellent Easter everyone. Remember, I can’t have chocolate Grandma – it’s bad for dogs!”

Easter Egg Delivery

Millie wanted to share with you that she managed to deliver 179 Easter eggs to Bluefin Ward. The nurses and children were very grateful! Thank you to those children in Starfish class who donated eggs 🐣🐰

Lunchtime Easter Fun

Thank you to the Sports Leaders for setting up some lunchtime activities.

Finally….goodbye to Miss Jones, Mrs Loftus and Mrs Simpson-Smith. In true Mrs Loftus style, we leave you with some postbox toppers created by the knitting club.
