In April 2013, the Government announced new funding, The Primary PE & School Sport Premium, of £150million for physical education (PE) and sport. This funding has been allocated to all primary schools from 1st September 2013 and is to be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sports provision.

Shoreham Beach Primary School promotes physical education as an essential part of  its pupils’ physical and emotional development. As a school we use a broad curriculum to inspire children to excel and succeed in a range of high-quality activities. We believe that taking part in competetive activities builds character and helps children to embed values such as fairness and respect as well as developing skills that allow them to work collaboratively.

Our vision is to develop healthy and physically literate children who love being  active and move competently, confidently and safely. We want them to understand the impact that physical activity has on their long-term health.
